Starting your semester in Paris...
Before beginning the academic components of The Gateway program, students participate in a full two weeks of orientation and preparation. This allows them to get their feet wet, visiting sites around the city, participating in daily practical activities, and having discussions on various topics relating to life in France.
The orientation curriculum is dynamic, consisting of a variety of activities designed to help students adjust to speaking French, thinking about issues that affect French society, and daily life in the French capital.
Some orientation activities include...
Guided visits to various Paris neighborhoods
Discussions on current events and life in France
Visits to the theater
Doing an ethnographic sutdy of a local café
Visit to a local market to buy lunch
