IFE sustains active relations with each college and university that pre-approves or affiliates with one or more of its programs. The attention paid to each institution mirrors the individual relations IFE develops with each admitted student. Both contribute to students’ making the best possible use of the program as well as to a high success rate for this challenging undertaking.
IFE leadership visits all "partner" institutions once and often twice annually, meeting with faculty, study abroad professionals, other university officials, as well as students seeking preliminary information, applicants, and admittees.
Members of approving colleges and universities are consulted and kept informed on program improvements, new placement areas, and other IFE developments as well as on individual progress of their students. For example, IFE may work with individual faculty members, especially from non-language departments, to ensure that the written work of a student seeking departmental credit will meet standards and fulfill department criteria.
